Good explanation, and I am also surprised that more people are not aware of how it works! Pretty simple stuff.

I hate it! Always jacking up my perfect powershifts when I leave it on!

how can you drive around in a car when you don't even know what it's going to do when you get into trouble? sounds like a bunch of women on here if you axe me.

"gas pedal means go, brake means stop, what more do you need to know?"

In the owner manual of my 2001 it states the following.

the system retards ignition timing, cuts fuel flow, and activates the brakes at one or both drive wheels, in that order.

The brakes are applied last, and the timming is retarted first, and the the fuel flow is cut.

what the traction control does is when it feels slip in the wheels it retards the engine cuts fuel and instead of your car fishtailing into a pole or something it basically stops the driver from accelerating from the start of the slip until you have control of your car having it on saved me and my car more than once

I've lost traction accelerating around a corner and the damn traction control made it more of a pain in the *** to get my car straightened out cause it won't let you stay on the gas, it just kinda grabs here and there and you never know wtf the rear end is doing because you are not controlling the throttle anymore.
