Default rear end

hey guys , im currently in the process of putting a new rear axle in my car cuz the one in there is currently bent. There is sum sort of spring clamp holding the axle onto the rear end and my dad whos been a mechanic for 35 years cant figure out how to get the axle out of the rear end, Do any of you guys know what im talking about? can any of you give me a detailed way to get that clamp off so i can get the axle off? any help would be great. Thanks

HorsePowerTV, just upgraded a 8.8 rear end on one of there new episodes, and yes they took out a little clip thing inside the housing to pull the axel. it wasnt where the S thing that you have circled is, it was on either end of the rear end, where the axels come in. thats all the info that i have.
