i'm ordering my gears as we speak and i need to be to work in an hour. What all do i need to help me with the install. Bearing kit????? shim kit??????

 

I'm thinking you need those things also... depending on where youre ordering your gears, you can always return the extra parts if you dont need them, that is, if you dont get a difinitive answer here before you go to work.

 

bearing kit if over 60k miles is recommended

 

you need a bearing kit it comes with shims and you need 3 pints of gear lube. go with royal purple

 

^^^also a good additive for that wont hurt

keep in mind that installing gears is a PITA

very tough job, i hope you know wut ur doin

 

Take it to a shop. That way if there is any gear whine you can always have them re-do it.

 

You dont need additives unless you have clutches, etc in your rear end...
By the way, isnt PITA somethin you eat?

 

Just order the complete FRPP gear install kit.

 

Hyper is right, order the complete kit from someplace like Drive Train Direct, it comes with everything you need except for the pinion depth tool which you'll need to borrow from someone unless you have a friend that works at a Ford dealer, good luck.

P.S. Try to get a kit with Ford Motorsport gears or US gear, the others are a bit loud.
