Default Selection help!

Okay here's the deal. The moment my focus sells I'm buying a GT. I have two options right now that are good. A black 99 GT in amazing shape and a blue 99 GT in amazing shape. The black one has 75k miles and the blue has 40k for the same price. Easy choice right? Get the one with lower mileage. Not so simple I'm afraid. I love black cars and my girlfriend fell in love with the black one the moment she saw it. Now, would it be a crime to get the black one over the blue one even though it has more miles? This is all assuming they are in the same working condition also, which I believe they are. Basically I'm asking how much does mileage matter. Thanks.

the more milelage, the more that can go wrong, but if you plan on upgrading engine internals later. mileage isn't that big of an issue. usually low mileage is better but black is beautiful.

As far as the milage mattering, it depends on how it was driven. If the 75K was driven easy and oil changed every 3k miles and the 40k was driven hard and not taken care of then the 75K would be the way to go. However unless you know the owner there is no way to be sure. I have a black 2001 GT 5speed and I love the black paint, but it is a nightmare to keep clean, keep that in mind. The blue stangs I think really look good too though. In all reality I would go with the blue with 40k miles or at least bring up the price of the 40k stang to the owner of the 75K stang and try to get a lower price. Good luck with you decision and either way you'll have a stang and thats all that matters .. lol ... GOOD LUCK!

EDIT: Good point from 2002blkgt about the internals
