Default spark problems

I did a scan with my predator, and it gave me several codes:

misfire on startup
random misfire detected
cylinder 1 misfire
cylinder 6 misfire.

I took out the old plugs (they were totally dead) and put in new NGK tr55's.

I reset the fault codes, drove the car around for a week, and did another code scan. I got the same thing except for the random misfire code. Ive done several tests to confirm and its bugging the crap out of me. the idle still isnt perfect, and it still bogs a little. anyone know whats going on? I have a factory tune BTW (no advanced timing)

I know it sounds stupid, but did you gap the plugs correctly??

Do you know if you got the coils in firmly?? What did the old plugs look like, as in, were they fouled?? Did they have a whitish glaze over them?? Was the electrode still in tact??

It could be as simple as bad coils, as previously mentioned.....

yes, I did them hand tight, then 1/16th turn. whats weird is that its the same 2 cylinders. there was no white on the plugs, the plug were intact, its just that the tips were nearly non existent from use.

did you swap the coils from cylinders 1 and 6 with any of the others?

When I meant gap the plugs, I didn't mean torque them into the head...

I mean, did you take a spark plug gapping tool, and check to see if the electrodes were spaced correctly...

Brute03 has a great recommendation.... Just unplug them, and try each of the questionable coils on a different cylinder, see if you get a different code..

Don't forget to clear the old codes first though..
