What's w/ the MPG questions lately??
As I've been flipping through pages, I've noticed a lot of questions about MPG lately, and was wondering why...
Is there really a need to ask about MPG w/ a Sports car?? Did the majority of you guys who went out and bought a V8, KNOWING that they get less than 30mpg average, and not think that gas prices were going to go up??
Seriously though.. If you want good MPG, get a car that has good MPG. Don't start modding your car, and booting around town, then ask why your gas mileage sucks...
Otherwise, get a second job and stop sounding like pansies...

you're preaching to the wrong choir here. you can ask this all you want. actually, with a title that has MPG in it, people just see that and want to ask in their own thread. just like gear threads, supercharger, nitrous, etc. one springs up with those keywords in it and suddenly there's 4 more just like it. all asking the same questions in a different way.

Actually buying a second car really is not going to save you money, lets do some simple math :
Filling up Mustang 8/month : 350$
Now lets say you buy a beater, which reduces how much you fill up your Mustang to 2/month and you fill up the beater 4/month
Filling up Mustang 2/month : 87.50
Filling up Beater 4/month : 100 (smaller tank, less gas)
Now you are paying 187.50/month instead of 350.
Now lets figure out how long until you are actually saving Money.
Cost of Beater : 2500 / Gas Savings (162.50 )
Months Before "Saving" money : 15
Note : This does not include operating costs of beater (insurance, Registration, Oil Changes, Maintenance, etc.)
So buying a beater as a second car to save money on gas really does not make sense.

Because gas prices are retarded right now. We all love V8 power and our stangs but that doesn't mean we can't bitch about gas prices. Hell everyone bitches about something at some point.
