I stripped mine too. They are really hard to get at [:@]

Just had to keep working on it. Hammered a slightly smaller socket onto the nut and just kept working it. It was alot easier on a lift. I couldn't put enough strength behind it on jack stands.

I suppose if you could get in there, you could cut it off.

thats pretty much the best way to get it off. use alot, alot, i say, ALOT, of penatrating lube. you are going to mess up the smaller socket but it will get the nut off. i had to do this trick on my old truck. i works well.

Do you guys know if the stud that connects the bolt can be replaced? I was wondering if I could just remove the whole stud, and then buy another stud and put it back in. I didnt know if the studs were hammered inor what. Or if they are a dealership only part.
Yes you can. This will be the right thing to do in your situation. The stud is screwed intot he exhaust manifold. So, forget about the nut for a bit, try to take the whole bolt out.

PB blaster is your friend. Spray and soak the nut really good.

It also helps to drop the starter out. You'll bang the flange on it and have to manipulate the angle of the pipe in ways you don't want to do if you are laying on your back.

Good luck.

what part of memphis are you from i think i may have seen your stang around. i had the same rusting problem with taking off my caliper bolt, then the lil compressing stud where the caliper bolt goes into was rusted and it wouldnt compress, couldnt change my rear brake pad. still couldnt get it unrusted even with pb blaster. I actually live in germantown, off of poplar, but since there are no mufller shops in gtown, I took it to Advance muffler, on Summer ave. My dad had to wind up taking it to a place all the way in Jackson, TN to get it fxed. Where do you live? Finally, a fellow Memphian Mustang enthusiast.

I'll be saving up for the predator tuner next. And then the shift kit possibly, and then 4.10's.
