Default BAD NEWS!

Well last night after really pushing my car (racing a g35 4 door) my belt started to tear and slipped off it was a gator back belt, and when i opened the hood the alternator was all loose it seems like the bolts fell off or unscrewed or something i couldnt really tell cuase it was late at night. anyways this was the second belt its completly shredded everytime i push her this seems to happen any ideas why this is happening? they told me my pullys wernt alligned and some told me it was my adjuster pully, but it seemed like the belt slipped off becuase the alternator got loose and lost the tension, i think the alternator just wasnt securly tightend so anyways i gotta find a ride back to my car and see if i can fix it.

Default RE: BAD NEWS!

if its tearing then the pullies are out of wack.
hopefully tightening the alt will solve it but it is the second time.

the tensioners have been known to go south, but id wait try the alt first

just make sure you route the belt right or youll throw misfire codes
good luck
