Default What to do?

Ok, this summer I plan on doing something big to my car. The only thing is I really don't know what to do. I can't decided between swapping in a new PI motor, swapping a 96-98 Cobra Motor, or doing a PI swap with full bolt ons. I guess my main two questions are, Will a new PI motor (99-04) bolt up with my trannsmission? And, Will the 96-98 Cobra Motor bolt up with my transmission. And, if you guys have any suggestions on what would be a good choice, let me know. O yeah, my car has 130,000 miles on it. Thanks. Kevin.

With that kind of mileage, I'd swap a full motor. I did a PI swap on my last 4.6 when it had 110,000 on it and it never ran the same. It idled like crap in the winter until it warmed up. Sure there was more power, but it's not worth it. A new PI motor will bolt up to your tranny. What you would need to do is keep your old ignition sys, old pullies, and valve covers. If you don't, you are going to have to make your own brackets for your coil packs. If you want to put the full PI motor in, you'd have to change a lot more (computer, speedo, tranny, keys, etc). As far as a 96-98 Cobra motor fitting into your tranny, I would have to assume so. I think that all of the T-45 are the same through 96-98. But if you're going to spend the money on a DOHC, then get a new trans. Either a T3650 or a T56. The T45 is garbage.

if money is an issue, put a pi motor in. your wiring harness, computer and tranny will be fine for a pi motor. only thing is the coil packs need to be transferred to the new motor, you can either make new brackets or find a couple bolts up front to mount your brackets to. i think you could pull this swap off for under 2500$ including the labor to put the engine in. if you do headers and the clutch etc, itll be more obviously.

Cool. Yeah, I'm seriously thinking of dropping a new motor in. Do you guys know any website where I can look for engines?
