Default chatterin NOISE update! not good

well for awhile i have been hearing a chatterin noise/ whirling noise around 2500 RPM. thought maybe a throw out bearing or pilot bearing. Took it to recomended shop, who i have always delt with. Guy comes back and says 'good news, got bad news" good news, not the trans, bad news he thinks its the bottom end. SO took it to a Engine shop that he recomends, guy thinks it could be rod bearing. SO now im Fukd. I'll be callin some salvage yards lookin for a engine, seeing as that would prob be cheaper then having someone rip it out and fix whats F'ed.

its prolly your lower berings, you should check the oil pressure, if its like 9 lbs. then it is the lower end and oil isnt being fed to the top of your engine causing valve clicking,, time to shop for a new engine, get a romero block 99+

Rod bearings are not that hard to do yourself..... you don't have to take apart the engine to do them. While you're at it, you can do the main bearings too. Just drop the oil pan and you have access to everything you need there.

Check the oil pressure first though before wasting your time/money.
