RE: slotted or cross drilled rotors

I have always heard that slotted are much better for a DD than drilled, because with repeated stop and go traffic over a long period of time the driled can crack.

I got slotted and drilled rotors, I've braked them real hard a couple times and no issues yet. $75 a piece. My only complaint is that they weren't zinc coated, so they get rust lines. They're by uhh... Raybestos.

iROTORS are the best I have seen for the money.

http://stores.ebay.com/iROTORS-Performance-Brakes

It is an ebay brand but I have heard good things. They ARE zinc coated so they won't rust. I am about to order a set for myself.

They look to be about $85 a piece, not bad. As long as the construction of them is fairly solid, they'll be good. It's hard to produce a bad rotor.

My friend has some for his camaro. Hes had them for over a year and they still look nice and shiny. Drastically improved his braking.

Is it true that you cannot cut CD/S rotors and need to get a new set every pad change?

i like the look of the cross drilled but i dont want something that breaks easy and has to be replaced all the time.. aaaahhhh decisions decisions

i dont think cross drilled rotors crack anymore. I think it was a problem with them drilling holes too large and/or too close together, but ive never heard of any quality rotors having problems. Slotted rotors chew up your pads, so there's a downside to slotted.

My dad put iRotors on his GTP, it stops so amazing. here are a few pics of the install:
