Default plastic intake cracking?

where exactly do the intake manifolds usually crack at? is it where the waterneck attaches to the intake or behind the alternator?

I have the replacement with the aluminum trim for the 96-98 GT. I had to get it because mine cracked, but two days later my engine crank broke so I got a new motor. I have the intake in my house with probably 30 miles on it. Anyone interested in it?

here's a piece of advice

a ford crown vic came into the dealer I work at with this problem. I work right with the mechanics and I'm nosey so I check out what they are fixing sometimes.

It cracked right at the front runner, behind the alternator. There are no warning signs, just it suddenly pops. It's a $1500 repair at the dealer. 500 for the part and 600 for labor.

My advice... buy an aftermarket upgrade intake for around 200-300 and do it yourself.

And no the recall is not in effect... it stopped a year or two ago unfortunately...

And the way it worked, was you paid to have it fixed, then you have to b!tch to ford corporate to get a reimbursement

What would be a good choice for a manifold.
