a hard reset on the cars computer by removing the - cable will show up on the computer. I live in Oregon and all they do is plug into the computer and check for codes, no codes you pass pay the 20 for the hook up and 45 for the tags and your on your way. The only thing is if you move out of state then you may have to change things around.

man every state has their own freakin policy on this stuff.

Pre OBD2 stuff you hook up to the exhaust hose and run on the dyno.

Classic cars like our impala, you get a sniffer test on idle

OBD2 you get plugged in and checked for codes. How they do this I want to know because I'm debating between catted and uncatted H pipe ... ::sigh::

with the scanner thing... if you reset your codes right before you get it scanned, theyll just send you home and tell you to come back after you've driven the car for awhile. they won't do a test unless the computer hasn't been reset for a little while. clearing codes won't help if they come back.

Passing the new inspection system for 96 (i think) and newer cars is as easy as not having any codes show up on a scan. All they do is hook up to the obdII port or whatever and take a reading. you just need to find a nicer place that doesnt do a full visual inspection...shouldnt be too hard. With this new inspection I'm going to do off road X instead of catted...and I'm in NY haha

Can I just switch the stock mid pipe with my o/r X pipe if I also have long tube headers?

nope, the o/r Xpipe that goes with the long tubes is shorter than the stock pipe.

I ran into a guy last week that had a sick *** mach1 s/c, he was running LT's with O/R X, and he said that he turned off the rear O2 sensors via tuner, and it passed everything.
