you will always get a little extra power out of an x over an H.. not much but a few extra hp.

I had an O/R BBK X pipe w/ Flows and it sounded like ***... I had to order an O/R MAC H pipe and I now love it.. I'm pretty sure it was the style of the BBK X that made it sound like ***.. Either way with X's you will get a very raspy sound.. The H will offer a lower rumble..

Generally speaking, you'll get a couple of HP more with an X, but a bit more torque with an H. We're talking a couple of Hp or a few lbs, nothing major. Most people decide based on sound, since there so little difference in power.
An H gives you the classic muscle car rumble, and an X will give you a raspy or snarly tone.
