brake whine
well i changed my front breaks using "hawk" pads about 2 months ago
now all of a suddon there is a HIGH pitch whine coming from them.....but only about 33% of the time
sometime ill take the stang out and it wont make the noice at all.....some times it will make it VERY LOUD
sometime it will do it every 3rd brake.......
WTF IS GOIN ON!!!!!
i had my mech. look at them on the fly the other day and he said theres nothing visualy wrong with the install

RE: brake whine
I have them on my rear (not hawk but a similar brand). Porcelin pads, correct? Great at stoping.. squeek like fn crazy on occasion. Its just the way the pads are.. They are more of a track use type pad... and are made for high heat and to resist brake fade, etc... so normal driving will take for frick'n ever to wear them in enough to shut them the hell up.

RE: brake whine
Any pad w/ a non-organic, semi-metallic, or full-on metallica pad material will usually produce a high pitched squeal, or screeching.. This is normal..
Now, if it sounds like grinding, or is sqeeling loudly just while you're driving, then you may have a problem...
