RE: wtf is up with the NPI guys?
They are in older cars, so you will see more of them having problems.
But I think we are just going thru a rash of em. I know what you are sayin though, like 4 NPI guys this week with blown motors.

RE: wtf is up with the NPI guys?
mine hasn't blown yet but with the way it goes through oil it may be iminent... ::sigh::
I parked in my bro's garage overnight last night (watching his house) and there was not a drop of leakage, so any fluid that is being used IS being BURNED... coolant sometimes and lotsa oil
Yeah I guess I'll just swap in a low milage engine, and then maybe rebuild my old one at my leisure to stock specifications and keep it as a spare...

The NPI cars are getting up there in age now, take into consideration the TOOLS that usually owned them before the latest owner. Let's not forget about the countless donuts and burnouts & missed shifts or over rev's they've had...also excessive miles between oil changes, overheating problems blahblahblah.
It's all typical. Give it another 3-4 years and youll start seeing a lot of 99-03 cars that have been around the block having the same excessive amount of issues.

yep yep! the car otherwise is in excellent shape (will have new wheels/tires soon!) and I love it... I know if i put in a fresher motor I can push the car itself over 200k

As long as the car isn't rusting, it'll last forever. Everything on it can be replaced without spending unbelievable amounts of money, especially when you do the work yourself. IMO, drive it hard and enjoy it for all it's worth. When it breaks.....fix it!

RE: wtf is up with the NPI guys?
exactly!! I love the car and yes I do rip on it from time to time, but I don't beat the crap out of it 24/7 and i do regular maintenance. maybe this engine wasn't maintained properly at some point which I guess now is okay...
I hope to keep the car long enough to completely gut it and make it a all out drag car...
the main problem right now is my parents are getting tired of hearing me talk about yet another part breaking on my car lol

Atleast you do not have to deal with a girlfriend complaining about how much you spend on your car. After 3 years you would think she would understand by now..... Gues she is just gunna have to deal with it... My excuse is "It is like I have a new car now and look how much I saved by going through ebay"

RE: wtf is up with the NPI guys?
yes i do have a girlfriend complaining about how much i spend on my car
i can't even modify the fu**ing thing yet so all my money is in repairs
my response to her is 'would you rather walk?'
my mom hates it when i say my car needs something, she gets literally mad at me like I purposely caused the part to fail

My girlfriend is to the point where as long as I spend the same on her as I do on my car we are fine. Now that is a pain in the @SS. Trying to hide what I spend when she uses my ebay account for herself.
