Synthetic for sure. Mobil 1 is good, as is any brand synthetic over a conventional oil. All Petroleum Institute Approved conventional oil is fine as long as you change it frequently. Synthetic you can run much longer than regular oils before changing but only if you use a premium filter. I run full synthetic Royal Purple 5w-30 in my '98 GT vert. The car loves it. For that matter I run synthetic fluids throughout......engine, tranny and rearend. NAPA stores usually carry the Royal Purple line if you have such a store in your area. Otherwise you would have to go the mail order route. Pep Boys does carry the oil only. Below is a link for some background on synthetic oils you should find interesting:

Definitly suggest Synthetic, either Mobil 1, Ams Oil, Royal Purple anything. I read somewhere that it is a 3% HP increase with synthetic oil. keeps engine cooler/running longer too,

Definitely Synthetic. I run Valvoline Synpower and a Motorcraft oil filter and love it. For our engines, never ever use just conventional, only a blend or pure syn.
