Intercooler pics for a 4.6 w/ air to air?
Anyone have any pictures of a intercooled 4.6L setup with a air to air cooler (centri style)?
I was thinking of buying a generic intercooler and putting it in the car, as it is WAY cheaper than one of the custom (paxton etc) setups. But I just don't see how the heck they are routing it all around the engine bay?

just get a snow performance boost cooler for your intercooler. it added 47RWHP to my vortech'd baby.

I am too scared of the bottle running dry etc!
Maybe I should look into it more, but it seems to me that if I could get away with a 500~ dollar intercooler that would be the way to go? Nothing to fill up etc.
On the other hand, my car is not exactly a DD. Guess I need to do some research.

actually. i've had my boost cooler in well over a month. i still haven't filled up my windshield washer fluid once and i get on it quite a bit. actually, today i did fill it up. it was only half gone. you don't have to fill it as often as you'd think.

What I would really be interested to see is for you to go dyno, then drive around for say a 1/2 hour at 95+ degrees, and then dyno agian. I really notice my power falls off when the car heats up and its hot outside.

hrmmm.. my car dyno'd at almost the exact same HP down to the tenths in winter and a hot humid summer day. this was when i was non-cooled at all.
sorry for basically hijacking about the boost cooler. i know it's completely not what you're asking about. i just love mine so much and it was only $399 vs vortech's $1899 aftercooler. and i still got almost 50RWHP from it. i could have gotten even more if i used a 50/50 mix. i'm using windshield washer fluid which is i think 70/30.

The dyno will post up corrected numbers for the temperatures outside. (or at least the room the dyno is in). So you won't really see a difference in power levels unless you look at the uncorrected numbers.
But, if you dyno on the same day and approximatly the same temp/humidity etc (it looks at all that) but one with the car hot and one cold you should see a signficant difference. I dynoed like 30 WHP less one time when the car was pretty hot (dumbass local shop had a **** lean tune in it and I drove 2 hours there on it).
I know I can definatly tell when it is hotter outside. If nothing else, my IAT setup pulls timing if the intake charge starts to get too hot.
I have to assume that the methanol injection kit does basically the same thing (cools the intake charge) but I would be interested if someone acutally had a temp measurement. Or does it do somethign else chemcially and not cool the charge at all?

meh. i still haven't really noticed a difference when it's hot out in my car. i'm sure there may be a difference, but it's not enough for me to notice it not pulling hard. in the winter, it definitely feels like it's pulling harder sometimes though. other than that, it just feels like normal, every day driving.

The way I am really noticing it is tire spin. When I take the car out on a cool day it wants to melt the nittos off thru 1st and most of 2nd. On a hot day, it still spins in 1st but sometimes from a low RPM it will bog a little, and in 2nd it usually will hook real well.
I know some of this could be tire temperature as well, but it just doesn't feel quite as strong with 100 degree weather as it does with 60 degree weather.
