Im going to agree with Jeep. I bought my 98 GT, put the mods you see below. And all i can get so far with 1 night of racing is a 14.8. My friend just bought his 98 Z28 LS1 with 2.?? gears in the rear end, and a stock engine not even a K&N filter. He is ripping a best of 13.8 with his first night of racing. I paid 7,000 for mine with 36,000 miles, he paid 11,000 with 68,000 miles. I just like the looks of Mustang better. And belive me they are easier to work on. I dont care if he can whoop my a**. I love my Mustang.( even if it is a non-PI car) And they can with small amounts of money get into the 11's easily ( Ls1) But thats what my dads Cobra is for . And I wouldnt go putting large amounts of HP on a stock 4.6, never the less on a SOHC engine, without building it up. Go to the video posts and see the 99 Cobra with 600HP blow the lower end on his DOHC. So i would just be happy with youre GT, and wait until you can buy something with some real *****

One other thing, if you are mad about being beat by another V8, how do you think i feel when my buddy was in back of me driving around one night and I got my a** given to me by an Honda with a turbo. I felt like a huge jacka** then. It wouldnt have been so bad if someone i knew wasnt behind me. So i dont think getting beat by an engine in the same class as youres is bad

Bro...you need to read up more man......adding fuel injectors won't get you 550, that should be included in proper fuel management. Also, I don't see myself trusting a non-cobra 4.6 to handel that much power.
I was making a general very statement on *some of the things that need to be done. Injectors, feul management and a chip comes in the auction...

www.turbomustangs.com all the reading ya need.

hey jeep, what would you recommend. if you say it will cost an arm and a leg what kind of work will i need done. i thought of just selling my stang too and buying a newer ls1. but i need to do something before the summer, my car is too slow.
I'd reccomend getting a 00+ LS1.....you can get 11's for chump change with a little bit of juice (200 or so probably, maybe a little less).

The only problem with blanket generic statements is that they lead arey. And a chip shouldn't even be brought into the picture, but a standalone fuel system, like MegaSquirt.

I'm well aware of what is involved in turbocharging. Hell, I was the first one here to start saying go turbo, not supercharger. Now probably 1/2 the people here have thought it over and seen the light....

100 shot + full exhaust = mid 11's

Anyone with common knowledge of both Turbo/Superchargers know which one is better...Turbo. Unfortunetly, turbo apps cost plenty more and take a ton more work for late model Mustangs.

You are mid/high 13's if your lucky and those LS1's are very low 13 cars from the factory, some rippin 12's.
