Default Ok, sound deadening and dynamat...

Anyone have dynamat installed in their car to deaden road noises and droning exhaust? Not looking to insulate for stereo puproses. I want to get rid of some of the road and interior noise. Ive never used the stuff before. Is there anything cheaper that will suffice?

dynamat is designed to eliminate pulses and not actual wavelengths of sound so there will be more of insulating effect rather than deadening/reducing of the car drone..

I did the doors, rear deck lid, under rear seats, trunk and trunk lid in Dynomat Extreme. It cut out a tremendous amount of exterior noise coming into the cabin. Yeah the stuff is heavy, but what the heck.

i was thinking about doing this too.. because sooner or later im ditching those crappy flowmaster mufflers and dropping in something deeper but thats not what im trying to do im just trying to think of something that can reduce engine noise so on the inside its like a bmw or something

are there any other sound deadning materials out there other then dynamat? I plan on ripping out my interior once I get my camera system in to run the wires and I was thinking of laying some sound deadner at the same time. If your asking your self why cameras? Its because I am too lazy to look in my blind spots and behind me so I am going to install cameras all around the car and installed really small moonitors in a custom a-pillar these cameras will also be tied into a mini pc that will be installed in the car to record just in case someone ****s with the car, the mini pc will also act as a GPS, and real time data logging for the car.

I used B-Quiet Ultimate sound deadening. You can find them at www.bquiet.com. I used both the Ultimate and Extreme. The stuff is awesome. I deadened the entire floorboard and trunk with this stuff. It is a lot cheaper than the DynaMat and workes just as well, if not better. If you do by it, get it off of Ebay, it is a little cheaper there, plus you get a roller.

I took an old piece of rubber i found, cut a hole in it and slid down around my shifter, its amazing how much noise can come up around your shifter. Try it, if you have long tube headers you can really notice a difference.

if ur gonna go dynamat u have to go extreme cuz the origioal crap dosnt work. and it is really expensive at 40 for a door kit good luck doing the entire car for under a grand. and by the way it is a pain in the *** to install, just buy the 4 dollar wooden roller dolley from the company or go to ur local ace and pick one up will save u lots of headache.

ps. if u want to completly elimate rattles and road noise u have to do the entire car, doors, floor, roof, trunk, everwhere there is a tiny pocket for air to be trapped in has to be sealed.
