Default Will Flywheel effect dynotune?

Hey guys! I'm new here and have found a lot of informative and pleasant posts here. My question involves a flywheel and dynotune. I have an aluminum flywheel sitting in my garage and am not going to have the chance to install it in my car before my dynotune. Will this effect the dynotune? I don't think it will, but am not 100% sure. Can anyone clarify for me? Thanks!

The weight of the flywheel will only affect the engine's rate of acceleration not it's power output. So with a lighter flywheel the car would accelerate a bit faster but it's top speed would be unchanged, I wouldn't think the flywheel is going to affect the dyno curve much.

What about the fact that the engine is working at less of a load, you don't think that might have an affect on the tuning??

Thanks for the welcome! Master i am going to be installing a new clutch at the same time, so i am happy i am on que with that, but like JT said, the engine will be working at less of a load, kind of in the same manner as pullies work, correct? Do people that put on new pullies need a new tune as well? That's my understanding....

It may not require any additional tuning, since it really doesn't affect the Air/Fuel measurements.. I pose the question because I'm sort of unfamiliar w/ tuning N/A vehicles.....

However, it makes sense if it may need a little tweaking..

Wouldnt the lighter flywheel release some of the robbed power of the stocker. It is less rotational weight, making the engine use less power to turn it, there for allowing more to be transfer to the wheels. Am I right?

This is true..

I honestly don't know if it'll affect the tuning, and that's why I had asked the question...

I doubt anyone has done a "Before and After," or at least anyone that's posted here...

I spoke with a few reputable dynotune shops and they all told me that it will not have an effect on the tune of the vehicle! Now we can all sleep better! Thanks for your insight!

Flywheel weight DOESN'T affect horsepower. True, it would take more power to GET a flywheel that weighs 500lbs up to a certain speed, but once it is at that speed then it doesn't take any more or less power to KEEP it at that speed than would a 1 lb flywheel, so long as the physical dimensions are about the same.
