03/04 cobra rear end problems???
I have heard several stories about the rear end in the 03/04 cobras not being able to handle the power after just a few mods, and having problems with the rear end locking up or just snaping. I heard one story that realy caught my eye, I heard about a guy having his rear end snap, and his back wheels locking up on him at 100 mph...

actually totaly stock 03/04 cobra snap the rear end also, wheel hop is another bad thing for the 03/04 cobras,i read up on people who just floor it and bust the rear end sometimes...billetflow makes an IRS brace that should be put on any 03/04 cobra even if you never take it to the track, they are just that weak, since my girlfriend bought her 04 cobra i did find a nice write up on how to build the IRS the RIGHT way, ill share...enjoy

Wheel hop is the #1 cause of IRS failures on 03/04 Cobra's.

RE: 03/04 cobra rear end problems???
well the solid axel is better if ur just launching the car but if u want it to corner like a champ then the IRS is the way to go
and i have seen many cobras with brace kits holding up just fine with 500+ hp on the stock halfshafts, but if ur goin to track all the time then u might wanna upgrade.

I was going to go swap my rear for an irs, but speaking to some guys that road course alot...the solid rear with the right mods will handle better than the irs with less $$$ the irs is better for everyday driving
