Yea, stock for stock the 4.6 OWNS the 5.0. Once they're both heavily moded, I'm gonna go with displacement. They don't stroke motors for no reason.

I know, that's what I'm saying. More cubes = more potential. That's why I said if they're both heavily moded, I'd go with the 302 for being faster.

both turbo and equally modded, a 4V would kill the 5.0 hands down...

Ya, I know the 4v responds so well to boost. But you and I both know that the car with more displacement can be made to go faster, that's all I'm saying.

It'd be like taking the ZR-1 and adding boost to it and taking a Cobra with it's already boosted motor. The ZR-1 would own it b/c of displacement, and of course weight.

obviously weight and aerodynamics play a big role...but im just talking about flat out hp...personally ide never need more than a 4.6, being that they can get well over 2000 hp when turbocharged...

I'm guessing that's not stock displacement? Besides, if the 4.6 can make that much then the 350 could make more. No sense in arguing this. I see your point, I think you see mine. No replacement for displacement. We learned this many years ago.

no, stock displacement...and about no replacement for displacement...thats a saying of the past, there are so many other factors...if the ls1 was a 4 cam motor, it would OWN all...im just a fan of 4 cam motors from personal experience

I understand what you're saying. The ZR-1 is a 32 valve DOHC motor though. That's why I said it would make more power. The new Cobra = bad ***. I still have no idea why GM went back to pushrods after going with the DOHC motor. Cause you're right, DOHC LS1 > all.
