Stock = 4.6 no question.......

Stock vs. Stock The 4.6L modular engine is a better engine than the 5.0 pushrod. It can withstand much more horsepower alot better than the old 5.0

modulars are faster and higher reving, will gain more hp with boost, and have much better blocks...while a stock 5.0 block can only handle 500-600 hp (i think) the modular blocks can withstand over 1000 no problem at all. they also get better gas mileage

But, when there is no budget to worry about, the push-rod motor is hands down the better motor.

LOL you know i would be here Dan hehehee. LOL What a bunch of bull .What makes the modular motor better isnt cause it can make more HP .And the new technology is kinda cool but the Japs and Germansben making overhead cam for years. A 281 Block wont make more HP then a 302 Block . CUBIC inches. HELLO? Also the new Cobra uses a cast iron block NOT a Aluminum one.Go and find the biggest HP 4.6 motor and ill show you a bored and stroked 302 that makes more power. Only reason the 4.6 made more HP from factory then a stock 5.0 is cause of GMs 275 then there 305 and so on. Ford could have made a 302 with 260 HP easy.The single over head 4.6 motors been around way before 1996. They was used in Thunderbirds and crown victorias.So to be cost effective they made it real simple put the 4.6 into the mustangs. Instead of having 2 different V-8 they have 1.This is for there passenger cars not 5.4 in the lightning.So tell me what way is cost effective? So the 302 needed to go! Just cause the engine has more technology doesnt means its better or faster. In Opionion it sucks for modding and cost way to much.Only thing that is saving mustang is a Kenne Bell Super charger.Remove the super charger and what do you have ? 4 Cams and 305 hp motor. You have LS1 kicking the dog snot out of any 4.6 . Why ? CUBIC inches.Dont get me wrong fellas i like the idea of the modular motor. But even for the 4.6 to get more big HP it still has to be stroked. My buddy is stuck in his 4.6. HP cost tons and his next step to get more hp is to stroke it. So what motor is better? They both have there strong points,but you cant say one is better cause of hp but you could say 4.6 is better cause its more effiecent. Still in todays world push rods make more HP . So that could be better in some people opionions. So cost plays a factor also. So its apples to oranges and opionions and thats mine sorry to blab so much and type so awful but im in ahurry. your really not to smart stinger....an na 4.6 will make more hp than an na 5.0...21 cubes wont make up for the pushrods. and all terminators have are kenne bells? wake up man, twin screw blowers ****ing suck. the procharger terminators are kicking the snot out of the kenne bell guys. and about this "Go and find the biggest HP 4.6 motor and ill show you a bored and stroked 302 that makes more power", all you have to do is look at the pro 5.0 guys. Dan Millens 408 hasnt broke into the 6's yet, but John Mehovitz is doing it in a 4.6. technology is your friend
