check out this 02 GT
What is up with the front skirt...is this the one that came with the factory. I am looking at buying this car but the front skirt looks
like they took it off a cobra....Any clues... I ran a car fax report but, no accidents.
Okay gents let me know your thoughts...also I am looking at what year is the best one to purchase...99-2004 ???

Yes that is a cobra bumper
The best year would depend on whether you were looking to save the most money or wanted a (in my opinion) slightly better looking car. Id take the 99 if you were looking at saving the most money because its the oldest. Visually, (I think it is the 01s +) that have the raised hood scoop and different spoiler which imo looks better. I got the 99 to save money. Performance and reliability wise they're all the same. It really comes down to how the car has been treated. I think this 02 looks good, and I dig the cobra bumper.
Dont trust the car fax completley; they don't disclose everything. Hopefully youre going to inspect/test drive the car. Good luck with it...

wow, im not thinking today.
The 01s + also come with a different transmission, the t-3650 which is slightly better. There may be a few other small differences I cant think of right now...Im done posting, its been along day and its not even 2 yet...

you are correct about car fax...but, its a start. I would definitely test drive it and view it. I like the low miles but, I am thrown off by
the bumper change. Anyway it could be just a cosmetic thing the old owner did. Personaly I like to buy the car stock and then do the changes.

Back to that car, I think it looks great, even the grill delete was painted to match, looks like a mod to me, I don't think an insurance company would have paid for the cobra front end,,, White face gauges too
