not bad for a first time, sounds like you did exactly what my friend did his first time out. His first couple of runs he would just floor it on green a spin like crazy and had 2.2 and 2.3 60's after we talked to him about giving it a little less gas right away he dropped his 60' down to 1.9 and ran a 13.4 compared to 14.0s in his other runs.

Sounds like you just need to give it a little less gas right away, like push the pedal down sorta slowly dont just floor it right away. And if you push the brake in and hit the gas i could always bring my rpms up to about 2000 without spinning and thats how i launched and i had 2.1 60's.

Remember to launch right when the last amber lights up. Don't wait for green. With your car on street tires you will rarely, if ever, red light if you launch on last amber.

Well your 60' time can be determined by how far you went in to stage. If you stage too far in you are going to lose some E.T. I'm not sure if a lot of people now that so that is why I creep in real slow. When you launch has nothing to do with how fast you go either. If you powerbrake it to about 1500 rpms your car can hold it but pump the brakes a little so you can hold the car when you bring the rpms up. My car was going 14.30s and .20s stock so you might have different altitude as well.

Ive never heard of bogging an auto, but a buddy of mine ran his wife's 03 GT auto and was runnin 14.4-14.5s with it, so there's a little more left in her. If you held the brake and gave it a little gas before the green you'd prolly pick up a touch of time also. S'not bad for your first time at the track though.

Yeah you can bog an auto. If your tires are too sticky you don't have enough power that you are even going to spin. My buddy with his camaro but some hoosier drag radials on with welds on the rear and was bogging because he didn't have that much power.

Wow i was at 42 the very same night that you were, I about laughed when i saw a 42 time slip. I was in the 98 blue gt vert. I was pulling down 14.4's with 2.1 60's. My best advice to you is deff. look into some gears, tires, a handheld tuner and lower your tire pressure. 42 sucks at first, but really helps you become a better racer.

Hit me up some time, and go to BUCKEYESTANGS.COM and check out the site. Its a great site for guys in the ohio area.

To throw some onto the fire:

You may, in part of the DR's, GET SOME CONTROL ARMS!!
HINT HINT I have some Lakewood Traction Action Lift Bars/Lower Control arms for sale. I know this isn't the classifieds, but I need to sell em, can't use them with my air ride. They're just going to collect dust.

I need to get out and hit the track and see what mine does.
