RE: Solid Axle Conversion
Unfortunately, I BELIEVE that you're on the backwards end, meaning:
-If I wanted to put IRS in my GT, it would just bolt right up, no modifications needed to the chassis
-If you wanted to put a solid rear axle, you may need to weld in a few brackets, or such. Not sure..
Either way, I think it'll be a bit tougher... You want my solid rear axle?? It's fully built...

I'm lilke 99% it bolts right up. I was going to do a swap with my friends coby before he sold it. The shop owner that was going to do the swap (who's GT had the swap done) said it was pretty much a straight swap....only thing different is brake lines, ebrake, etc.

RE: Solid Axle Conversion
I read a article in a mag where the swapped a live axle into a cobra. All the bought where the springs and control arms and maybe shocks. Just remember the axle lengths on the 96-98 are different from the 99-04. So if your going to swap with someone it has to be a 99-04gt. You will also have to switch your exhaust to go over the axle.
