does anyone know any brands of shift kits for an 02 gt mustang, i cant seem to find them anywhere?

you should have a 4r70w (AOD-E) trans not an aod. im sure b&m makes some, you could also hit the lentech and performance automatic websites.

With the newer cars you do it all electronically. You use a hand held tuner such as a predator or the like to adjust your shift points and firmness. This is sooooo much better than a shift kit because 1. you can always set it back to orgional and 2. you can install it yourself!

Hey 02yellowgt.....so ur sayin a tuner is much better than the shift kit? does that tuner work identical to the shift kit? cause i was told the shift kit is a lil better......i dont know i been wanting to put one on my 00 auto...i know the shift kit makes u burn 1st gear and 2nd or 3rd i believe

tuners do not make it shift firmer then a shift kit. It may be good that you can put it back to the original and install it yourself, but a shift kit wit ha tranny cooler will make your tranny actually live longer. Plus performance wise a shift kit is better but a shift kit + tuner= almost perfection add a torque converter to all of that and that will be perfection.

You bring up a good point. I have not done any reaseach into what auto tranny is in the newer GTs, but from what was said eariler it looks like it is the AOD-E. If so, B&M makes a **** improver kit for it.
