Default short block

hey all... what would be a good place to get a forged short block from?

I'm thinking about piecing together a good blower ready engine, putting it together myself and then installing it myself rather than really overhauling mine...

i figure if i could get good forged short block and then throw a nice set of PI heads on it with a good cam I can strap on a vortech no problem

okay I'll give them a look see, thanks

does it sound like a decent plan? I figure once I pay off my car I will have surplus money, and will be saving for a bada$$ engine setup in my car. This is about all I wanna do, is have 400+ rwp and have the rear end to hold it, and that's where I'll stop.

well I looked there and I can't seem to find a short block, I found internals and heads... i'd love to get a short block to avoid the machining process (i can have it done and do all the installation but it would be nice to have it professionally done)

exactly... I'd love to build it with my block, but who knows if my block is any good to do that to? and I can rebuild an engine, but i've heard the bottom end is very sensitive to assembly/dissassembly and I don't want to chance it. I will pay a few extra $ to get it ready to rock

i saw a short block for the GT with forged everything for $2500 from VT engines... it says it's good to 500 horsepower

would that engine be a good choice to put with a set of PI heads, stage 1 or 2 cams, and a 10-12 psi vortech supercharger?
