Cleaning Wheel Wells

I'm taking the GT to a car show in Fort Wayne on Saturday, so Friday is gonna be a good 5-6 hours of waxing, cleaning the inside, making the car shine like I've been meaning to do for awhile now.
I also want to take off all 4 wheels, and clean all the dust on the backside of the rim that I can't really reach from outside while the car is sitting on them.
But my real question is when I have my wheels off, I would like to clean the wheel wells (which are constantly dirty as I live on a dirt road).
When I do this, do I need to wrap the whole brake assembly (pads, discs, caliper etc...) in some kind of plastic bag to keep it from getting wet, or does it not matter?
thats my real concert, so if anyone knows, or has any experiance, please let me know

that's what i thought,, but there is alot of dirt and grime up there from my damn road,,, and i'd planned on scrubbing it pretty good so alot of *hit would be falling down on it and I didnt want anything resting and settling on anything...
still same thoughts? no need to worry about water or crap on it?

a simple green/water solution will work well - spray, let it soak, then rinse it off. cant hurt to scrub it down with a brush either.

yea, im thinking some simple green will make it pretty simple, spray, soak, scrub
and i might as well bag it, that way i dont have to worry about rinsing everythign back off
little piece of mind i suppose
