Saleen is a roots type blower while Vortech and side mounts are centrifical blowers. Go with a Kenne Bell 1.7 twin screw!!!

The 1.7 is a waste of money. People just say KB cause cobras mount up to them easily and of course everyone thinks a cobra is fast!

Paxton is the best out of the 3 you listed, i've heard good and bad things about vortech and procharger. Saleen blowers really dont make great power.

Or maybe you are biased...

Kenne Bell does cost more than the other brands, but with proven dyno results and having even rode in one, IMO KB is the best. Your opinion is Paxton. I do agree though that Saleen blowers do not make good power.

The best brand is the brand of the one under your hood.

There's more than enough info out here on how much each cost and whether the owner likes it. Powerdyne guys even rave about their blower (until it craps out anyway).

A KB is nice but a little more money than a Vortech or ProCharger. I haven't had experience with the Saleen blowers but I haven't heard much good press on them either.

I like the sound of twin screws, which is why I would go with a Kenne Bell if I had the money. Got a lot of saving up to do :/

Depends on the blower you are talking about. Yes, their series II roots blower is junk, but their series IV is pretty comparable to KB's 1.7, power wise. And a Saleen series V is the most capable positive displacment blower avalible for the 2v 4.6. It can be spun to make 23+ psi.

There are plenty of blowers out there. Problem is most people don't know enough about them and make fake claims about them. There are 3 different types of Superchargers (aka "blowers").

Twin-Screw: Kenne Bell, Whipple, Saleen etc...These sit on top of the engine and you can cleary see them. Most people say if you are looking for a car to bang around the streets with and go to the track once in awhile, Twin-Screws are for you. They make boost at ALL RPM's so right when you get on it, the boost is there. Not to mention they really scream when you get on them.

Centrifgual: Vortech, Procharger, Paxton, Powerdyne etc... I don't know a whole lot about these but I do know that if you are a big track person this is the blower for you. They make boost at roughly 3000 RPM's.

Roots: Eaton (and a few more maybe). These look somewhat like a Twin-Screw on the outside, but the internals are completely different. These also make boost at 3000 (ish) RPM's. They also make a nice amount of Torque.

This is a picture of my friend's 96 GT with a Eaton Blower on it.

He has Flowmaster American Thunder Catback, FRPP 3.73's, Steeda Shifter, MAC O/R H-pipe, K&N Filter, and the Eaton Blower (M90). He had his car dynoed and tuned and he only put 321rwhp but 409rwtq.
