I met someone one night with an 04 cobra, KB, long tube headers, O/R slp X pipe, And LM2's. His car sent the standard for whats loud. By far the best sounding, loudest street car ive heard. So my advice is, glasspacks sound like sh*t with a stock mid pipe on a 99+ GT. So atleast get an O/R X if you want Glasspacks.

slp lm1's with an o/r midpipe is about the loudest you can get. i got them and are getting rid of them for some flows 40 series
That will be the wisest decision you could ever make m friend. I am so pleased with my 40's and MAC o/r H. Its perfect IMO.

I had glasspacks with a BBK O/R X and it was WAY TOO LOUD. I didnt see any performance gains, it was just too loud. When I drove through my neighborhood the sound would bounce off all the houses and I just didnt like it. I been through 6 or 7 different exhaust setups to find the ones I thought sounded the best.

If you want all out loud A$$ sound go with a glasspacks, but I been down that road and I wouldnt recommend it IMO.

Thats your opinion, but its wrong. Lots of times they sound bad but sometimes they sound awesome. I LOVE the way magnaflow magnapacks sounds, and they are essentially a glasspack too.

As George had mentioned earlier, Glasspacks are really just glorified resonators, very similar to the LM1s/LM2s...

I think the tone is a little different, but about the same volume..

To each his own.. I personally love hearing every growl and burp my car has.... Longtubes to straight pipes out...

personally i have glasspacks w/ stock midpipe and i love it, its nice and deep and crackles good like LM1 (just not as much and as high) everyone always tells me i have one of the nicest sounding mustangs around so i guess i have to say that glasspacks arent a bad choice if you want a cheap alternative to the $400+ catback. ill try and load a video sometime of them so you guys can hear it, im buying an o/r h soon to so ill let you know how it sounds
