I have the 555Rs but they arent on my daily driver. I have no complaints so far and they seem to be lasting decent. However my experience with the 555 was horrible, I'd never use them again.
uh oh... what was wrong with them?

I had the 555's before the R's and they worked great. the Nittos wear alot quicker than most tires but they sure beat the pants off the goodyears that came on there and the BFG's i put on later.

the regular 555's are just a normal street tire (if I'm thinking of what you're thinking of). I have them. I don't have any complaints, I've beaten the living bejesus out of these tires for 20,000+ miles and they still look like they have a lot of life in 'em. decent ride, good cornering traction. decent in the rain.

I don't understand nick's post... the 555r's are a drag radial, right? if so, why rotate them?

Had them on all fours. Never considered putting just them on the back??!!

Maybe I had it the opposite then... I found that the BFG's lasted me longer, but didn't quite have that extra bite...

I loved the 555R's, but I won't put them back on the car until I get rims, hopefully next month...

What were the 555's like in the wet??

JT

EDIT: Just saw RedAss' comment about wet traction...

Just like any mustang tire in the rain!!!!! SUCKS! Especially when they get worn and start to get slick. Youd be better off with a Nascar tire then!LOL

They came on the car when I bought it, they almost dryrotted off the rim and they had no traction at all. I will admit though they were great in the rain. It's just mine and everyone i know that had em had bad experiences with them...

Hehe, that's what I feel like now..

I've got the BFG G-Force Sports, and the I never let out enough air in rear last time I rotated them, so they are concave now... Plus, since my bad wheel bearing/tie-rod end, my front right tire is fuct...

I still don't know how some of you guys have tires that last that long... Even after rotating them, I still don't get nearly as much from them as the Tread Wear Numbers reflect...

hrmmm.. i guess i'm going with the Rs then.

i always heard the BFGs wore thin real quick. not as fast as MTs, but way up there. all the reading on here indicated to me that the nitto's are the best "street" drag radial cause they aren't as soft and won't hook as well and lasted longer.
