how long does it grind for? does it sound like a bad bearing or a gear on gear clash??

is the starter new? what did you do to it?

I reused my old one but I 'rebuilt' it, as in tore it down, cleaned it, and lightly greased all the bearings and it works nice now

It just grinds.. but not even a grind really... a squeal actually. Just will the key is turned over once the car starts everything is fine.. The starter was working great before the clutch and all was replaced..

so when you are cranking it makes a hideous noise? These starters are NON adjustable... I'd suggest (unfortunately) taking it off and having a look see at it. While I had mine out i rebuilt it and cleaned everything and lubed it...

I think u need a starter unfortunately

I really dont think I need a new starter.. Just doesnt make sense that it works completely fine, no problems out of it then it goes back on and all of a sudden i have trouble.. I cant remember if i can get to the starter without pulling the tranny or dropping the mid-pipe??? I didnt get under it tonight but i will for sure tommorrow after i get done with a funeral..
