stroker kit?

RE: stroker kit?
Its not even close to worth the money. Unless you have done everything else to your car. Almost any other combonation for 3400 dollars (plus install!!) is going to make more horsepower than a stroker kit.
On a stock or nearly stock setup it does jack. Now if you have that supercharger/turbo installed and want to rebuild the bottom end anyway for more boost it would be worth it.

even a heads/cams combo with 11.1 compression. i do agree with everyone that said doing it for hp isn't worth it, but if you are going to boost it or your motor just $hit the bed, its worth the money.

IF you had a major power adder and IF you had already done head work and cams, then it would be worth it.

RE: stroker kit?
i was just on the ford site and noticed that 03 lightening crate motors were 6700 was wondering if this was worth while or just build up my 4.6 and be happpy with what i got. also curious if anybody knows if the hood would still fit

RE: stroker kit?
If you're car doesn't have that many miles I wouldn't do a swap, now if your car craps out or has lost a lot of its original "***" then I personally would probably just buy a crate motor it's definetely cheaper to rebuild though if you can do it yourself. You could also do a rebuild with some badass aftermarket parts and get some sort of FI... with forged internals, new cams, P&P heads, valves etc. a 4.6 could probably handle 20psi. I'd estimate a complete rebuild on a 4.6 with OEM price range parts and labor way more than a crate engine but if you can do a lot yourself then a rebuild might be right for you. Yes I'm almost positive a lightning motor would fit under a mustang hood, that would be pretty sweet. All IMO
