by the way, you said you did a 97 to 97 swap, is the 97 to 99 swap going to be the same?? like...is the engine block the same and stuff?

It should drop it, as far as mounts and what not im not 100 percent sure. You may need to change some of the mounting peices on the bottom end

Also ask to see the mustang that the motor was pulled from, if he doesnt have it ask for the VIN and run it through DMV see if it was wrecked

unless he added a supercharger onto it then its not s/c'd because 99/01 cobras were not supercharged.

I also say BS on the $950 for a 4V with a supercharger. I spent $3750 a year ago on a 50,000 mile 4V. But if it is true that is one hell of a deal. But remember if it sounds to good ot be true it is.

Here are few other things

Your GT hood will rub on the Cobra intake
GT strut tower brace will not work anymore
you will need a Cobra thermostat housing because it is different than a GT. The Cobra is located of the engine you will also need all new Rad. hoses
Throttle cable and Cruise Control cables are a little shorter on the GT. So you will need the Cobra cables.
I'm sure there is more but I can't think of it now.

first the 99 cobra motors did not come supercharged if it is charged then it was an afterthought (meaning he added one on). second you will definatly need to replace the break booster because the cobra uses a smaller one than the gt due to the heads ar much larger and won't fit with gt booster.you will need the wiring harness from the cobra and the ecu, i'm not sure about the radiator it may be bigger on the cobra. but after all your figuring things out and before you pay for this stuff make sure that it is the real deal and not someone blowing smoke up you a** because it definatly sounds way to good to be true.......... whatch your self with this transaction. but let us all know if it is true because well all be verry verry jelouse of your good fortune GOOD LUCK!!

i got his phone number just now, i am going to call him when i get to work, great info guys, keep them coming, because i have never done an engine swap by myself before. Let me know if there is anything else i need to know, i need alot of advice

rw98 why do you say you have to change the brake booster. I have been driving for a year on the GT brake booster and I have not had any problems with my car stopping.

If its a stock supercharged motor from ford, dont buy it. Dont you guys remember why they didnt make a s/c cobra in '00? Becaus they sucked in '99.
