I have an '02 GT and I have just recently started hearing a ticking noise. It sounds like it is coming from the front of the engine, and it is only intermittent. Any help as to what it might be would help. Also I just replaced the belt, but everything appears normal to me. Thanks

 

Maybe a small exhaust leak between the head and manifold.

 

had the same issue, mine was the timing chain, yippie

 

I hope to hell it's not one of the timing chains. That's already happened to me once 1500 miles from home. The engine I have in it now has about 30k miles on it. I like the exhaust leak story, as this engine had headers installed on it when I put it in. Thanks, keep the suggestions coming please.

could be alot of things...... timing chain stretched, cam caps loose, could be the fuel injectors---- stick a long flat head screw driver to each injector listen through then end of the driver... is the clicking just like that????? sometimes the injectors are loud..... Mine does the same thing.... has a 109 K though.......so i think my car is just a POS.... mine also stutters through out every gear.........
