Sadly you wont stand a chance unless you go PI. Going PI also raises your compression so you will be making more STOCK than a 99-04 GT.

Nope, your car already has the PI heads.

It doesnt matter who gets off the line in the end the mazda would win. NON PI cars fall flat on their face at 55mph. Trust me I own one and i thought it was fast and i would own people off the line then they would scream past me later on....99 and up mustang GT's have PI heads, cams and intake manifold. it is called Performance Improvement or Power Improvement....it is why they have 260HP vs 225HP. You can just change the Intake manifold for an easy 15rwhp and the cams without the heads for another 15rwhp. Totally swapping to PI heads, cams, intake manifold can easily obtain 60rwhp without a tune due to raised compression (10:5) in the 96-98 motors. Its all about $. Doing a PI swap is going to get you the most horsepower instead of wasting it on bolt ons. If i knew what i knew now it would of been the fist thing i did instead of getting bolts ons. GEARS ARE A MUST. 3.73 or 4.10.

I raced a Madzaspeed Protege and got him. But we only got up to 60. Even from a light I opened up a can of haul ***. It could be that the driver was like only 17 and dumb, or just had some knock off Madza.

+1. Race because it's fun. Stock for stock, the mazdaspeed protege can outrun an auto non-pi stang( MSP's run low 15's). Your sig says you run 14.7's, with the MSP's mods, he probably atleast at mid 14's (ver possibly more depending on the boost level). I've seen MSP's with the mods that guy has with 225 FWHP (yes, at the wheels) which I'm sure its good for squeezing into the thirteens with a good driver. So basically it depends on how much boost and what exhaust he has (cat-back or turbo-back, big difference).
