do i stand a chance?
hey guys just wondering what you guys would think the outcome would be if i went up against a mazda protege speed that has a turbo with raised boost , intercooler, and some exhaust work done to it. i have one of my brothers friends that want to go up against me. My mods are in my signature. let me know how you think it would turn out.

Get some Gears! I have a pi motor and cars like that dont seem to be able to hang. And ive got stock gears. I had trouble with some kind of mercedes. Other than that acuras, mazdas, itchapussy's (mitsubishi) dont want none!

wow sadly im the first person to say, WOW.
a f*cking turbo'd protege could run 15's for all you know, they could also hit 9's... stock they run high 16's to low 18's, WOOOOOOOOW
MORE INFO.
upped boost, wtf, that says NOTHING, could be 12 psi, or 21 psi, BIG DIFFERENCE.
es or lx, and what year protege? BIG DIFFERENCE
it would take a lot of turbo/engine work to knock of 3-4+ seconds off his time. so again. WOOOOOW. I can't believe two ppl are saying you will lose, I'm not saying its an easy win, but wooooooow. they take 9-10 seconds to hit 60 mph, so even w/ a turbo, from a dig, you should blaze him, by 2 car lengths. dont race him to high speeds, thats for the track anyhoot. and if you do take it there, then g/l, should be close.
if it is worst case (for you), say its a 95 ES, they run mid 16's, im sure if his turbo is pushing a lot, and if his cars in good shape, you would probably lose. just dont race him from a roll, in your non-pi =p
ive raced a gti w/ a turbo, upped boost, from a roll (40 roll), (all 2nd gear for me) w/ only my mods, he had one mean blow off valve, but still... i smoked him by a bus length, and he cried, lets take it to the highway, psssh, we all know i would of gotten smoked on top end vs a tiny lil turbo'd gti. essspecially in an auto.

a 99+ mustang would destory that car. That car on stock turbo with max boost still is very slow. My friend had that car with exhaust and boost controller. With max boost on stock turbo that car is still slow. The engine has no potential at all either. He sold it and got a GLI.
