Default PI INTAKE ON NON-PI HEADS

Will a stock PI intake manifold fit on the 96-98 heads, and if it is possible will it gain any hp numbers. I have a spare sitting around and will throw it on a buds car if it will help him get any more power. Also, if i put the cams my heads came with (PI ones) from my VT swap will i need to put new springs in?

Yes you can do it. You need to use the adapter kit made by Livernois Motorsprots. Check out this link

Don't waste your time typing!

It will fit and add 15 rwhp and raise your RPM powerband. The PI cams will also go in with no other needed mod except new cam bolts. They will also add 15rwhp. I have seen guys dyno 35rwhp from this swap.
Heres a thread with info and pictures.

It says that theyve seen it give 35 more hp, but going with a hull pi head swap arnt the gains around 40-50 hp? Im not sure if that makes too much sense by getting 35 hp form the manifold and only 5 -10 more from the heads.

Its been proven that the PI heads are not the big power gain in the PI swap as thought before. Don't forget adding PI heads will boost compression a full point so that accounts for 5-10 hp from the swap. So the heads are only actually good for 5-10hp over NPI heads.

I don't know if you can do it witout the kit. Everyone that I know that has done that has used the kit and has been very happy with it.

No, hold on just a second. For a moment, I thought to myself, damn, I missed that one badly.

Then I went to the Livornis site.

The intake manifold is a 'modified' PI intake, with adapter plates, etc. So, yes, they make the plates, but you have to buy the modified PI intake from them also.

In essence, I was correct that you cannot bolt on a regular PI intake by itself or even with adapter plates. You need their kit.

I thought if you did the PI swap on a non-PI GT, than you'll be makin as much power if not alittle more than a stock 99-04 GT?
