I'm gonna be in the lookin for another Stang to add to the corral around Feb-Mar this coming year. I was thinkin of a 96-98 Cobra just because I've seen some for around $8,000 or so with under 80,000 miles. I would love to have a 4v and the Cobra name, so I figured this fit right up my alley and their pretty cheap with some power. What would be the ups and downs of getting one? And I was lookin up specs on them and all 3 of them were listed at different weights. I think the 96 was around 3100, the 97 around 3300 and the 98 around 3400. I figured autotrader dont know what their talkin about and just put the numbers on there, or are the weights really different for the 3 years? Thanks guys.

Nah the curb weight for the coupes is 3354lbs that right for 96-98. The convertibles are about 3590 lbs

Haha yea no problem. My boy has a 97 cobra he paid 8k for it with 72k miles. Thing runs like a champ. Even for a convertible the thing moves. Hes only got an offroad X-pipe on it and a Diablo tune.
