Are all stock headlights this bad?

RE: Are all stock headlights this bad?
True, I would just check it out a little more if you wanted HIDs, because I have heard mixed information on them as far as legality (is thats even a word) and I would hate to have the cops on my tail for something completely stupid like headlights.
I could be wrong, but I have heard both sides of the story, and I don't have a concrete answer.

I'll just have to research the HID's a little more. I'm not worried about the legality of my headlights. I live in southern Indiana, so there's no smog checks, never get hasseled for my 15% tint, loud exhaust, nothing. It's pretty nice. There's way too much meth around here for cops to crack down on little stuff.

Don't touch those blue bulbs. They may draw more power than stock, but they are PAINTED blue. The paint will only take energy away.
Try GE Nighthawks. They're like Silverstars but without the stupid paint.
And HIDs are legal only in stock form. All kits are illegal, particularly the ones that just give you stuff to install it with the stock lens. Some people do retrofits which is doing it properly, basically treating the projector as a sealed package and somehow fitting it into your stock lens. Still illegal, but you usually won't get in trouble for it if done properly.
And if you get HID, do 5k to 6k. High temp is illegal and it's really WORSE. You can't see as well. It's for show.

RE: Are all stock headlights this bad?
What kind of shape are your stock headlights in? If they're fogged/faded then just replace them with OEM units off of E-bay or something for like $70. The stock headlighting in good shape is more than adequate-anything else is just for show. Those so-called foglights on the other hand...

I was thinking about getting these: http://www.cqlight.ca/catalog/produc...roducts_id=107
Check out this thread at SVTPerformance for more info about them: http://www.svtperformance.com/forums...&highlight=hid
The member there used 8000K, but I want to go with 6500K because 1) Don't want to risk burning my housing 2) 6500K will light up the road better
