For those debating about Saleen and KB
I've just gotten off the phone with THR and ordered my Saleen Blower with Upgraded pulleys. Now I spent a long time researching and calling THR, KB, and Saleen before I made this decision and I hope this helps people out who are trying to go for the best bang for buck.
What THR is doing right now is prob the best deal I have seen so far. At 9 to 11psi, fully stock motor, you will see around 390 rwhp. Now with a few bolt ons, better exhuast set up, and minor tunes, you will be over the 400 mark easily. Now my hesitation with this blower was, how much HP will I be able to boost from her? Well compared to KB 1.7 or 2.2. Not much. KB's 1.7 pushed to the very limit of its boost and with a full bolt on mustang, 507rwhp is possible. But 450 is around the saftey limit even on a built motor. The Saleen 1.5L is around $1,200.00 less, and will prob push you to 12psi safetly and you may see 450rwhp max. Average with a conservitive tune, around 415 to 425rwhp. So you may ask yourself, well which should I go for?
If your like me that mainly races on the track and 11.0 sec quater miles are your goal. Get the Saleen Blower, and use the money you save for a better suspension and tires. With all that horsepower, it doesn't mean anything if you can't hook on to pavement. There was a guy here, that has a little under 380 rwhp n/a that runs mid to high 11s all day long. So 415rwhp with a good suspension and some sticky tires and practice. You'll be wowing the track go-ers and beating the Mach 1 or Cobra next to you with 600 horses and no traction.
Now if you are like my buddy. Who loves nothing better then to show off his power by comparing dyno sheets and street races from a 40 mph roll, then go with the KB1.7 or 2.2. In shear raw HP, the Saleen will not hold up. It just can't. Now if you happen to have enough money for a kick @$$ suspension to harrness 600 HP, then by all means go for it, this message doesn't apply to you.
My Current set up is:
1) Saleen 1.5 with 9psi pulleys
2) 75mm throttle body (frees up a few extra ponies)
3) 42lb injectors (comes with 30lb but I wanted more boost)
4) 90mm MAF (This I don't know if it was necessary but I bought it just in case)
5) CNL CAI (One of the few CAI products that will work with the Saleen blower, you can get other products to fit but this is the best looking one I've seen so far)
6) 3.73 gears (Choose them over 4.10 because this blower is instantaneous boost from the moment you give her gas. I feel that 4.10s are just TOO much rev for me)
7) Diablo Predetor tune (Not necessary because Saleen supplies a factory chip that is next day air shipped to you with all the settings done but to free up a few extra ponies, and to get the right tune for the right octane, pick one up)
This is stage 1 of my project. My goal is to see 420rwhp on a fully stock motor.
Stage 2 will include a suspension upgrade, brakes, and stoker rotating assembly.
Stage 3 will be a full paint job, 17x9 and 17x10.5 FR500 Wheels, with BFG F1 tires, 03/04 cobra front bumper, Cobra R hood
So far the blower, 75mm TB, 3.73s, and 90MAF costed me less then 4800.00. You can barely get a KB1.7 direct from factory at that price. And that doesn't include all the extra goodies to compliment the blower.
Well thats my ranting 2 cents. I hope this helps others in the forum with dilemmas similar to mine.

Your post actually helps a lot. I never knew blower shopping could take so much. I won't be able to afford one until income tax returns so that gives me plenty of time to shop around.

So you need the 42lb injectors for the 9psi set-up or can you use the 30lb's??

@ 4psi, which is standard for the blower, 30lb injectors are standard. With the upgraded pulley you are almost doubling the boost. A little extra fuel in the rack wont hurt to compensate for it....
Now this is TOTALLY experimental on my part. I haven't talked to anyone that has my particular setup so there is nothing for me to go off of. I know that the KB 1.7L kits come with 42lb injectors if I'm not mistaken.

RE: For those debating about Saleen and KB
the kb comes with 38's I believe...SO like you said, you most likely will need that, if not 42's...But my question is, would you need an upgraded fuel pump...I see you upgraded the MAF, what about the fuel pump...

RE: For those debating about Saleen and KB
should be 36# inject. on the kb. yea, and what about the fuel pump ive been curious about that myself. the kb comes with the Boost a Pump. excellent post btw very helpfull to people looking on info for a future blower.
