Default how can 2 mustangs be so different?

A buddy of mine has a 02 GT with an O/R X pipe and cat back plus an intake and a chip. His car can run circles around mine. He said that some mustangs come from the factory with a little bit more HP than other ones. Is there any truth to this or is there something he isnt telling me?

Can't swear by if since I'm not in a Stang, but most cars get a BIG boost from getting their chip re-done. If he's done it, and you haven't, he's probably on the level. Just a thought.

I beat the doors of my friends stock 04 5 speed GT with my mass air meter & flowmaster 02 5 speed GT.

He's an awesome driver too. Got his old 350z down to 13.9 bone stock. I've driven his GT and it's a dog compared to mine, we can't figure out what the deal is. I want to drive another GT..

It is mostly driver. But I have driven other GT's, some feel fast others are real slow. Kinda sucks that they are not always on par with each other.

...Some of the gt engines are tighter and better than others brand new. Fact of life.

Well that goes for every engine, but I'm starting to believe all the rumors I read online about GT/NA Cobra motors varying in horsepower really bad.

I can't get over how bad I can violate my friends 04 GT with 1 mod basically. A buddies SN95 GT with a 99 Cobra motor, we can't pull an inch on eachother. I've driven his car and it feels identical to mine.

One guy here kept saying he had what he thought was a factory freak GT, I believe he dyno'd over 230RWHP stock too. [:-]

I know stock I dyno'd 224RWHP with less then 3000 miles on the clock. It got stronger and faster didn't dyno it before i did the exhaust, but next time I do I think it will be around 240WRHP with just a catback and catted x-pipe.

ok, so I went out with a few of my friends and I was able to drive my friends factory freak. He's got 275's on stock rims and they broke loose in second and a little in 3rd. Mine chirps second and thats it, his just flat out broke loose. If there is a HP difference it must be pretty large.

not to brag but i chirp pritty good into 3rd thats when i was stock still does it now with catback and pulleys. 2nd breaks loose pritty good but a nuff to get traction back and 3rd goes chiirp. car has 1500 miles on her .will see what she does when i finish my mods below. ya know i was pritty depresed when i first drove her compared to my formula 350 she didnt seem like she had the power but her power is definatly mid range power shes got a hella powerband. i think i might have picked a freak she loves to go.

before most of my upgrades I could chirp in third. I did a really good chirp in second. But I always keep the trac control on so I dont go to far with it.
