Default RE: Lowering springs?

I used the Pro-Kit and it took and couple of extra days to get the Shock and Struts. I went ahead and changed out the springs without the shocks and struts. I have to say the ride absolutely sucked in my car at least. I changed the shocks and struts and man what a difference. I agree with the alignment. I took mine the day after install. It drove fine and I really did not think it needed it. I have read over and over that an alignment should be done. The shop that did the alignment said they could not belive how far it was out. It did not feel out at all, drove straight. I would say go get an alignment.

For me...a pro kit isn't enough. Get some ***** and lower your car like a man!

Get sportlines....and go to pep boys and buy some 93 GT foxbody shocks/struts for $100 and you are good to go Then worry about CC plates. But trust me...a pro kit isn't going to satisfy you.

I like the look of the Sportlines...My friend has them on his 03 vert and is always dragging....Roads in Houston are not all the best....Why my decision was to go with the pro-kit..just and extra .02

1. get the sportlines
2. you can wait on the LCAs, the rears are easy as a $5 hooker anyways
3. you DON'T need new struts
4. you should get the C/C plates

I think it rides better than the stockers. Big bumps are more jarring, but that's due to the proximity of the bump stop...

The problem w/ not doing shocks and struts is that you WILL get front end DIVE, and it is very dangerous..

In fact, if you don't believe me, measure the distance it takes you to stop now.. Put the springs on, measure the distance. Wait a week or 2, until your shocks/struts are blown out, and then tell me how long it takes you to stop..

I guarantee that it'll increase your stopping distance by 20%, AT LEAST!!!! Not to mention that your car will bounce around uncontrollably, since you have no DAMPENING force or REBOUND force to stop the springs reaction..

Besides, the jarring isn't so much from the bump stops, as it is from the lack of opposing force on the springs...
