wet engine
Is it a huge problem if I got water in the intake. Last night it was really rainy and I hit a couple of puddles because I coulnt see. Also I have a fender mount intake, and the motor was caughing and shakin crazy. Then it did something I've never seen before, it threw a service engine soon light. How many starts does it take to clear those, 7? Im prettty sure I burned all the water off cause I let it dry. Still got a code, inly 2 starts.

Are you pretty sure you burned off all the water cause it quit sputtering and coughing? Anyways you can go to Auto Zone to get the SES light cleared at any time. If the condition that turned it on in the first place is still there though is will come back. Water isn't bad for the intake as long as it isn't too much. It sort of steam cleans the inside. Get too much though and you'll break something, as water doesn't compress. I'd try Auto Zone first though to see what their scanner thing says.

I hate that every time it rains I end up with a wet engine. You can take your car TO Advance Auto or Autozone and have them clear the code. I'm not sure about how many starts it is before your computer will clear the code.

You got lucky, but Its hard to hydrolock a musta g unless you like going through puddles.
my friend hydrolocked his vette, they have a ram air intake in the front and the lip is a few inches off the ground, making it very easy to scoop up water. Threw the stock airbox back on, and towed it to the dealership new motor

This type of incident sort of solidifies the fact that I don't ever want to put a fender-mounted CAI in any of my cars... Unless I lived in the Southwest...
