best brand of mid-pipe for an 04
I just wanted to get everyone's opinion on what is the better brand to go with for the mid-pipes. I'm looking to either get an H with cats or an O/R H. Just not sure if the O/R H will be too loud. Anyways, just wanted to see what brands everyone is using or would use... thanks guys.

Dr. gas. this is what i have and i LOVE it. it is deeper than a traditional xpipe, but has the xpipe performance. there is only one downfall to this midpipe though. you have to weld it. its not bad at all if you have a welder or your going to pay somone to do it....but the trouble is worth it

If youre looking for an H pipe, then its hands down MRT..full stainless steel, loud, good quality, just more money for the o/r one than some nice catted pipes, and its crazy for a catted one.. lol
with x's i'd say bassanni and slp..
there isnt anything wrong with mac, it just isnt stainless steel (i have MAC by teh way, love it thus far)

Hey thanks... this has probably been answered before, but are O/R H legal? I live in TN and we don't have any emission tests or anything. I want a good deep sound, but not to wake everyone in town. My plan is to go with an O/R H with the SLP LM II catback. Think that would be too loud? I'm gonna go look for some clips to see if I can find that setup.

regardless of where you live,, touching the catalytic converters is illegal
however, if you live in a state with no testing, then you techically 'can' run the o/r H without getting in trouble (unless youre messing around, get caught by cops, and they happen to look underneath the car)
if youre gonna be running LM II's, i'd look into an aftermarket catted H or like you said, run an o/r H pipe...sure, its gonna be really loud with the o/r H, but i think its WMmost or somethign like that has that set up, and says he likes it.. and im sure its almost as loud as my setup, which is pretty loud..
you'll be able to exist w/o annoying the neighborhood if yorue careful, if you try to wake them up though, you will [8D]
good luck, hope that helped

That does help. I'm just tired of my stock exhaust and stock mid-pipe... too quiet for me[:'(] I think I could get by with an O/R H since we don't have tests and the cops aren't too bad around here for just pullin you over unless your just doing something stupid. Lots of guys have their flows on their trucks that are pretty loud and they rarely ever seem to get pulled over for it. Heck, I may just buy an O/R H and a catted H... put them on and listen to each and keep the one I like better and sell the other one that I don't use. I'm gonna do some more research on it but good advice
