Default How to get the killer "LOPE"

Its time for cams for me. From what ive read i want really notice a sound difference with the stage1 but i will with the stage2's. I know i will need new valve springs and all for the stage2's but i really want that badass sound. Right now i have flowmaster 40 series on my car. Is there a certain exaust that will make the lope from the cams even more noticable? The place that will install my cams will also tune it since they are an SCT certified place. Another question they say you wont see the full potential of the stage2's, will i see about the same power band as if i had stage1's?

Thats what I was thinking... I think baffle stype mufflers really cover up the sound of my cams. I have Flowmaster 40 series cat back also... I think If I got some SLP Loud Mouth 2's will really help uncover the rough idle that my engine makes... I can really hear the rought idle in the middle of my car but out the back its droaned out... By the way you will need new valve springs with any cam that has .550" lift.... most aftermarket cams have that amount of lift for all there stage cams including stage 1. It may have been done without the spring swap, but eventually they will fail. The power curve is perfect for my car. I think if I went with stage 2 cams I would really suffer bellow 4500rpm and would improve over my cams past that. But I have the best for street. I would like to have a very noticable lope too... But Im pretty happy with my cams. If I had to do it again I would go with Comp 270AH cams. But who knows if I tryed both mine might be the better pick.

To take advantage of the stage 2's you need ported head/intake and rev it above redline. Stage one's are what 90 percent of us need but what do we want? I want stage 2's! I have cutouts so my open headers will prolly make lope loud.

my cams made power until 5500rpm...... I redline at I think 6300rpm. The stock cams make power until 4500rpm. I think if I got stage 2 cams the power would climb till 6500rpm or atleast till redline. I would probably make about 5 more hp with stage 2 but I would lose more of that down low in the rpm range. ITs yoru choice. I really feel it kick in hard at 4500rpm on my car. So I could only imagine that stage 2's take longer to hit its sweet spot. And it would be sluggish under 4000rpm deffinitly. Heres my dyno graph.

yes rotarys with a good bridgeport will have a lope bigger than a chevelle with a .750 lift cam. ive heard them side by side
