Does the noise occur when you're stationary??

Does the noise increase w/ speed?? Does it make a difference if you're going in reverse?? Do you feel anything when the noise occurs??

My car also makes this noise. For me, it only happens AFTER I run it hard, then when I start to make a slow turn like into a parking stall. Anyone know what that could be?

where do you hear the knocking noise when you turn the wheel, if its coming from the back it might be the driveshaft possibly, my buddy messed up his driveshaft and he heard a hard knock after awhile, or it could actually be the rear end itself, have someone stand outside your car and listen to where its coming from, alot of the time noise is distorted through the cab. Or another possiblity is that its the steering column, it happend on my 5.0 (also had the air bag explode on me). but if you can let me know where its coming from eactly i might be able to point you in the right direction.

sometimes i get the knocking noise. it started everytime i pulled in my driveway while turning sharp, so i figured it was something in the suspension creaking, but then it started happening in reverse and under flat landed sharp turns. i figure it might be the rear end, or driveshaft as well. It also only happens after a good 30 minutes of driving.

my dad has an 04 gt and it does the same thing. i figure im not going to sweat right now? or is it something serious?

Could be u-joints and a sway bar & such.

Also, get your car up on jack stands, pop off the wheels, then put them on and tighten the lug nuts one at a time, criss-crossing so that the wheel goes on even, tighten the same way, then use a torque wrench.

I'd also suggest that you avoid turning your wheel while the car is stationary. It is EXTREMELY hard on ALL STEERING components. Always try to have the car moving before you crank the wheel in any direction.
