Continental Extreme Contact (WINTER TIRES) 245/45/17 were all around when i bought the car...
managed a 2.226 60' with some on back with 4.10's that were BALD AS HELL...
currently, im running the same 2 front tires, (now to the point of it being dangerous in the rain) with 275/40/17 MT ET Street Radials in teh back...
if you want a tire that sticks, then MT ET Street's, or MT ET Street Radials are your tires...
im close to 7K on mine with some serious babying all around, but i expect to still get more than 10K out of them no problem.
